IMPEACH BUSH
US: 'Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction'
Senior officials in the Bush administration have admitted that they would be 'amazed' if weapons of mass destruction (WMD) were found in Iraq.
According to administration sources, Saddam shut down and destroyed large parts of his WMD programmes before the invasion of Iraq.
Ironically, the claims came as US President George Bush yesterday repeatedly justified the war as necessary to remove Iraq's chemical and biological arms which posed a direct threat to America

Remember how this war was justified? That's right, the White House continually pounded away at this lie, and despite extremely flimsy "evidence," and despite the exposure of some downright fraudulent information, both the corporate media, totally failing to do its job, and the American public, totally abdicating its responsibility of citizenship, believed the lie. WMD is the Gulf of Tonkin for the new millenium. Why is there no outrage? Why aren't impeachment papers being written?
And where is the evidence of an Al-Qaeda link?
People are dying for lies.
UPDATE:
Weapons of Mass Destruction Were a Fantasy From the Start
The rest of the world never really believed the White House's justification for war anyway. As U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix said in late April, Washington and London built their case for going to war on "very, very shaky" evidence, including documents that subsequently turned out to have been faked -- and with the war now over, Washington isn't even bothering to insist that Saddam Hussein posed a threat to the United States any more. "We were not lying," a Bush administration official told ABC News on 28 April. "But it was just a matter of emphasis."
I repeat: people are dying for lies.
Thanks, again, to J. Orlin Grabbe.
