AMERICA'S ABSURD SENSE
OF SEXUAL PURITANISM

Just think of Janet Jackson's Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction" and the ensuing uproar it caused when you check out these pictures from the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Athens.

Click here (those aren't lifelike statues; those are actual naked men in makeup), here (that's right, this fertility goddess has both of her nipples exposed), and here (that's the ancient Greek god Eros, and as the name implies, he's the god of lustful sex).

I hope you get the point here: in America, sports plus naked performance equals bad; in Europe, it seems to be entirely appropriate.

Sometimes this country just infuriates me.
