MORE ON THE GAY GOVERNOR
McGreevey donor pleads guilty to 18 charges

From the AP via the Houston Chronicle:

A major donor to embattled Gov. James E. McGreevey pleaded guilty today to tax violations and charges stemming from a witness tampering scheme in which he was accused of having a prostitute seduce his own brother-in-law.

Real estate mogul Charles Kushner pleaded guilty in federal court to 18 charges, including retaliating against a federal witness and violating campaign finance laws.

Kushner also pleaded guilty to 16 counts of filing false tax returns through various real estate partnerships. McGreevey was not implicated in the criminal complaint against Kushner.

Even though McGreevey wasn't found to be criminally involved with Kushner, I think it's safe to say that, from all appearances, the New Jersey governor has had with him, at the very least, a relationship that is similar in nature to the one President Bush once shared with former Enron CEO Ken Lay. The point is that McGreevey not only has been accused, with substantial evidence, of heavily abusing his office, he has also surrounded himself with criminals. His self-outing is just a smoke screen designed to confuse the public: McGreevey makes a joke out of gay rights.
