U.S. death toll passes 1,500 in Iraq

The number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq has topped 1,500, an Associated Press count showed today after the military announced the deaths of three Americans, while car bombs targeting Iraqi security forces killed at least four people in separate attacks.

Okay, it's time to admit that the election didn't make anything better. The above linked article isn't so much about the newest record for American deaths in Iraq as much as it is about how that country is in utter chaos. There is absolutely no way the Pentagon can bring stability to Iraq, so our continued occupation is ultimately doing nothing but getting our boys killed. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the occupation is also getting lots of their boys, girls, men, women killed, too. This is one of the biggest blunders in US history, but people keep talking as though they don't yet realize it. Meanwhile people are dying. Lots of people.
My god, how many people have to die before we come to our senses?
