MY COMMUNIST PARTY PIN
given to me by the school where I teach
Okay, it's not really a Communist Party pin.
The mascot for the school where I teach is the "Ranger," but for all intents and purposes, it is actually a cowboy, as in the Dallas Cowboys. The football uniforms are similar and the school icon is a silver star. Yesterday, I and the entire faculty, I think, received small silver star lapel pins (presumably as a thank you gift for the eye-glazing, zombifying managing of the great Texas standardized tests we've been administering this week) that were attached to a fancy business card that said in fancy writing:
"Thank you for always doing more,
doing it better and always
exceeding expectations
(signed by the principal)"
Nice, huh? However, yesterday was May Day, so my Ranger pin became my Communist Party pin once I painted it with red fingernail polish.
Aren't I so subversive and ironic?
Eat the rich!
