ENRON - THE MUSICAL

From the website for Enron - the Musical:

Laugh at the parodies of familiar Broadway show tunes in this social satire as you finally understand what really happened at Enron. This two act play tells the story of Enron from the perspective of a former employee. He shares stories about Ken Lay, Jeff Skilling, and Andy Fastow with each scene having a delightful tune to get you laughing, sometimes mad, and a little bit sad. Learn about the California energy crisis, the Nigerian barge deal, the broadband fiasco, Valhalla, and of course, the off-book debt that sank the company.

Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. What's fabulous is that it's being produced in Houston, the scene of the crime and my hometown. And, of course, because it deals with power and oppression, it's a very likely candidate for what I call Real Art--the play, I'm sure, also deals with that other kind of power, energy, and I'm sure there's some pun or joke in that, but I'm just too tired to find it. Anyway, there is one more reason that Enron - the Musical is going to be fabulous: my pal Stephen, who I cast in his first stage role back in 2001 when I directed Oedipus Rex at dos chicas, is playing Ken Lay, and he's going to be great.

Here, check him out in this Fox News video piece; he's the guy in the glasses and blue button-down shirt. I'm so proud of this guy!
